AHL/CCM Player of the Week

            Toronto Marlies forward, Andreas Johnsson has been named the AHL/CCM player of the week. The Swedish-native scored 2 goals and 3 assists in 2 games to help the Marlies continue their unbeaten streak in regulation to 12 games.

            Johnsson who was selected in the 7th round of the 2013 NHL entry draft is proving to be a great asset in the Leafs’ organization and has now collected 84 points in 116 AHL games since making the jump across the Atlantic Ocean from Sweden.

 

2 trades to announce

            There were 2 trades last week in the AHL, that saw 4 players moved around.

First, the Vegas Golden Knights acquired Zac Leslie from the Ontario Reign for future considerations. Leslie has been assign to the Chicago Wolves.

Second, the Dallas Stars and Nashville Predators agreed on a trade. The Stars will receive F Tyler Kelleher and D Andrew O’Brien. In exchange, The Preds will receive F Mark McNeill.

 

Suspension

            Only one player has been suspended this week.

Syracuse Crunch defenseman, Reid McNeill has been suspended only one game by the AHL for a cross-checking incident that occurred on February 2nd during a game against the Utica Comets.
