So now that my body has finally thawed out, I am ready! Tonight ,I had the pleasure of going to Jurassic Park in Maple Leaf Square to cover the game and get the fans reaction and boy oh boy was it a good time. Yes it was raining, yes it was cold but to see everyone come out and support their team(s) in spite of the weather was amazing. The Toronto Raptors weren’t the only Toronto team playing- you had the Blue Jays, Maple Leafs , TFC and the Marlies as well.

The Toronto Raptors hosted the Washington Wizards at home Wednesday night an up until the 4th quarter, it was a close game!

(Jump Ball)

The 1st quarter kicked off with confidence and hustle from both teams. Both Washington and Toronto were playing like this were a game 7. Toronto is 3-0 at home this post season and were looking to keep that winning streak going. A quick foul goes to Marcin Gortat and the fans love it. With seconds left in the 1st quarter,John Wall hit the jumper to end the 1st quarter up to bring them ahead by 1pt, 24-23.

John Wall had  25pts, 10ast, & 5reb in game 5. Wall is the 1st player in team history to put up those numbers in more than one playoff game. He has hit those numbers two games consecutively  and almost made it three in a row but only put up 9ast along with 26pts and 9reb in lastnight’s game.

Mid way through the 2nd the Raps went on a 13-3 run.

In comes Delon Wright With 2:00 minutes to play in the first half. Wright was definitely a key factor in the Raps win putting up 18pts & 5rebs. He didn't give up and made smart plays. In order to win this series the bench mob need to start playing like Delon Wright.

Bradley Beal hits the corner three to bring the Wizards with 1pt at the half time buzzer.48-47, Raptors at the half. Toronto had zero second chance points in the 1st half which Wizards’ head coach Scott Brooks must be thrilled about!

Late in the 3rd quarter, Washington gets their first lead of the game since the 1st quarter but a quick response by Lowry brings the Raps back on top. It seems Washington always had a response for Toronto in this game not letting one another get too far ahead.

In the 4th quarter CJ Miles put up a dagger to extend the Raps lead. JV and DeRozan walk off the court getting an ovation form the fans. DeRozan had game high 32 points, while JV had 14pts & 13reb.

Toronto heads back down to Washington Friday night at 7:00pm where they will play game 6 looking to end the series there. If Toronto wins game 6 they wait to see who wins out of the Indiana & Cleveland series.

Raptors 108-98 Washington
