Against The Spread

After months of anticipation we are ready to roll for week 1. The defending champs looked sluggish on Thursday night but Atlanta's awful red zone execution reared its ugly head and the Falcons lost for a second straight game in Philadelphia. Here are my week 1 selections.
Houston +7 at New England: I love the Texans in this spot. Last year Houston behind a rookie QB almost won in Foxbro. This year Deshaun Watson is back and healthy and so are the Texans. J.J Watt looks like a healthy beast again. Houston comes in with their awful season behind them. The Texans have the talent to be one of the top teams in the NFL. New England are typically slow starters. The Pats started last year 2-2 and looked terrible. Many believed their dynasty was done till they turned it on and went back to the Super Bowl. With injuries and suspension the Pats are not ready to roll week one like the Texans. Pick: Texans
San Francisco +6.5 at Minnesota: The Vikings are a great team and could go to the Super Bowl but we have seen major improvements in the 49ers afterJimmy Garoppolo was acquired. In fact Jimmy GQ still has not lost an NFL football game. The 49ers are good enough to keep this game with in a touchdown and we haven't seen Kirk Cousins play a regular season game with this offence yet. Pick: 49ers
Denver -2.5 vs Seattle: The Sea Hawks are due for big time regression!! They have lost the legion of boom. Their offence is in transition as Doug Baldwin will not be 100 percent for a while. Going to be a long year for Pete Carroll. The Broncos are primed to bounce back after a terrible year. They still have a great defence. They are at home and should get much better play from Case Keenum than what they got from any pivot last year. Love Denver in this spot. Pick: Broncos.
Good luck and enjoy week 1.
