CCM/AHL Player Of The Week
Manitoba Moose F Nic Petan has been awarded the CCM/AHL player of the week honours. The youngster had a great collect of 2 goals and 6 assists for a total of 8 points in 3 games last week. During those 3 games, the Moose registered an incredible +17 goal differential.
Petan helped his team fortified its position on top of the Central division with 36 points, with a 9 point lead over the Rockford IceHogs.
Considered yourself warned.
The Buffalo Sabres aren’t messing around. During their losing streak, management sent a strong message to their young roster, by assigning veteran forward Matt Moulson to the AHL through waivers. Not claimed, he has been lent to the Ontario Reign, the L.A. King’s affiliate. It seemed to have worked has the Sabres finally ended their losing streak last night when they defeated the Colorado Avalanche 4-2.
A 1st in the AHL
San Jose Barracuda head coach, Roy Summer became the only coach in AHL history to reach 700 wins. He achieved the milestone Sunday night, when the Barracuda defeated the Bakersfield Condors 2 to 1. In February, Sommer became the winningest coach when he reached 637 wins. The record was held by Fred Cook and the mark stood for 72 years. Congrats coach Summer!
