TORONTO — Another game, another loss for the Toronto Argonauts.

This makes it 7 straight losses for Toronto, and a season sweep by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Despite the loss, Quarterback James Franklin had a promising game. He threw for 292 yards, 2 touchdowns, and hurled a 43 yard bomb in the 3rd.

The Offensive Line didn’t give him a whole lot of support however. Franklin was sacked 3 times and coughed up a fumble in the 3rd. He also throw an interception.

Franklin and the Argos outscored the Ticats in the 4th quarter, which demonstrated an unwillingness to roll over and quit despite the team’s rocky play, an attribute that makes Franklin positive for the future.

“Going through that with those guys, you find out a lot about them and you get closer,” He said with a smile. “You still grow and develop from that and that’s really what we want to take away. We didn’t have that quit at the end and… still stayed positive.”

Friday’s game was Franklin’s first start since Week 7 and he certainly outdid his last performance as the number one. But he says he didn’t change anything to prepare for the start against Hamilton.

“I just went back to my old self as far as my attitude of staying positive and trying to have fun. There’s always going to be negatives no matter what it is… but you've got to just move on from that.”

Another positive, Receiver SJ Green had a career night. On 7 catches and 127 yards, Green passed the 9,000 yard milestone for career receiving yards. He now sits less than 30 yards back of 28th in all-time CFL receiving yards.

Franklin was very proud to be a part of Green’s milestone and joked about making it happen.

“I think he actually said he was going to give me a little something something if I threw him that one so,” He said and chuckled. “But that was really cool. I gave him a hard time like ‘man I didn’t know the old man had some jets!’ on that little 5 yard pass I threw him and he took off. I was really excited to see that.”

Toronto drops to 3 and 12 on the season and is poised to contend for the 1st overall draft pick in the offseason.

The Argonauts have one final home game Saturday October 20th against the Montreal Alouettes.

Hamilton improves to 8-7 and pulls into a tie for 1st place in the East with the Ottawa Redblacks.

Ticats Receiver Brandon Banks broke a franchise record with his 9th straight 100+ yard receiving game.

Receiver Luke Tasker passed Ticats great Mike Morreale in franchise receiving yards to take sole possession of 9th spot, while also passing Darren Flutie to move into 4th spot in franchise receptions. He also made 3 touchdown catches for the first time in his career.

QB Jeremiah Masoli threw over 300 yards for the 11th time this season. He is 3 games back of the league record of 14 set by Doug Flutie in 1991.
