MONTREAL — The Toronto Argonauts are still looking for their first road win, and it could come Sunday afternoon in Montreal. Quarterback James Franklin has been making a strong case for himself late in the season to be considered for the starting position in 2019.

Sure he threw a couple interceptions in last week’s game in Toronto, but the 27-year-old has been starting to throw for 250+ yards consistently. A promising stat for his future.

Franklin can also break the single season rushing touchdown record for a QB of 14 set by Doug Flutie.

For the Alouettes, they’ll be playing for QB Johnny Manziel. He has yet to register a win in 6 CFL starts.

The Argonauts could take advantage of some rumoured animosity in the Montreal locker room. Rumours that Manziel isn’t liked in the Alouette locker room have been denied by the former Heinemann winner, among other players and coaches in the organization.
He has also said that neither the XFL nor the Alliance of American Football are of interest to him, for now.

Montreal is 1-7 at home, another factor working in Toronto’s favour.

Expect the players to be playing for pride, but also playing for the future and whatever 2019 may hold for both organizations.

Let me know what you think!!
