MONTREAL — The Montreal Alouettes proved they don’t deserve to be the last place team in the CFL with their absolute domination of the Toronto Argonauts Sunday afternoon. Als Quarterback Johnny Manziel got his first CFL win and threw for 139 yards and 1 touchdown in the first half.

Antonio Pipkin also threw a touchdown and 49 yards in the second half to secure the victory.

Kicker Ronnie Pfeffer made his return to the Argonauts lineup and got the boatmen on the board with a 57 yard punt through the end zone for a conceded point.

That was one of just 4 points the Argos scored in the first quarter, moreover the entire first half.

QB James Franklin made sure he didn’t throw any interceptions and managed 205 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for 71 yards, but couldn’t break the single season rushing TD record.

Receiver Llevi Noel caught 8 passes for 105 yards and by-far his best performance of the season.

The Argos were basically never in this game, and were shut out in both the second and fourth quarters. The Als rubbed salt in the wound by scoring 2 touchdowns in the fourth, one off a sack fumble recovery in the end zone by John Bowman. It was Franklin who coughed up the ball.

Bowman has likely played his last game in Montreal and will move on to let the Alouettes continue to rebuild. Despite the pain it caused the Argos, it was a great sendoff.
The Argonauts fall into last place again and are the only team with more than 500+ points against. Montreal improves to 4-13.

Both teams have a tough test ahead of them to close out the season.

Toronto heads down the road to Ottawa to wrap things up against the Redblacks, while Montreal can take advantage of a sputtering Tiger-Cats squad when they head to Hamilton.

Let me know what you think!!
