It must be nice for the  Toronto Raptors to be back on their home turf. Let’s wipe the slate clean- tonight was a new night facing a new team. There is still no OG and still no VanVleet but there is Kawhi Leonard! I can’t stop talking about this guy.. I talk about him at work, at home, in the car, in my sleep(don’t worry-in a healthy appreciative way). He is just such an important player to the Raps and that was shown last night vs the Milwaukee Bucks turning that perfect 6-0 record to an 6-1. Ben Simmons and the 76ers have been favoured to run the East this season but with a 4-4 record-it’s not looking that way. Unless..they do a “LeBron”- tank the regular season and absolutely demolish in the postseason..

(Jump Ball)

Joel Embiid gets Philly on the board with back to back buckets (8-4) followed by Markelle Fultz with a fancy spin move pushing Lowry to the ground but no foul called. Embiid had a rocking first quarter staying with the ball & getting his own rebounds. Embiid finished with a double double(31pts, 11reb) leading the 76ers.

Delon Wright was another Raptor who was back in action and he looked good! Starting with a three-pointer, then a reverse layup and then a two handed flush to keep the Raps ahead(50-37).This looked like a playoff team who was hungry and vengeful. They have something to prove.

Raps up 67-53 at the half.

I think “The Process” has yet to work for the 76ers but something is working for Markelle Fultz. That ugly shot is slowly fading away and he is looking like his old self again. I know I know, it’s been a couple years but it would be a shame to see a #1 overall pick(2017) not get better.  Fultz finished with 8pts & 4reb.

Kawhi Leonard continues to put up big numbers finishing with  31pts, 7reb, 4ast & 4stl. He is averaging 27.3 ppg as a Raptor and shows no signs of stopping.  He hits a three point shot and then a turnaround fadeaway jumper solidifying the win for the Dino’s. I didn’t see him smile but his high five to Lowry indicated he was happy. Lowry was a silent but deadly player tonight putting up 20pts & 12ast.

Toronto is back at it. Winning. They are now 7-1, tied records with the Golden State Warriors. The Raptors head down to Phoenix Friday preparing to play young phenom, Devin Booker & the Suns. They play at the Talking Stick Resort Arena with tip off @ 7:30pm.

 Raptors 129-112 76ers

Fun Fact: Talking Stick Arena is owned by Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community(SRPMIC). SRPMIC is a Sovereign tribe located in the metropolitan Phoenix area. Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community is comprised of two distinct Native American tribes: the Onk Akimel O’odham (Pima) and the Xalychidom Piipaash (Maricopa). The center of their aboriginal territory is located in what is now called the Phoenix Valley, but their villages and farms previously occupied vast stretches of land along the Gila and Salt Rivers.
