The Los Angeles Lakers played Portland Saturday night where they won their first game in Portland since the 2013-2014 season and it was all smiles as Blazers #31 Seth Curry’s brother, Steph was in the crowd showing his support on his night off. Kawhi was out due to soreness in his left foot but hoping to make a comeback sometime soon. I’m not going to lie- LeBron has grown on me and I know moving to LA won’t be easy for him as he now has 7 children not 3, but this was a game that I think the whole city would like to move on from. I have never seen James on the floor so much since the start of his career as I did tonight.

(Jump Ball)

The T-O-R-O-N-T-O Raptors killed it in the 1st quarter, hitting shots, dunking balls, taking names along the way! Toronto outscored LA 42-17 in the 1st qtr alone. That’s pretty impressive..

Late in the 2nd quarter OG Anunoby went up and kneed Javalle McGee sending him to the ground but then soon went to the line after Ibaka fouled him. Ibaka slams it down after rejecting an alley-oop on the other end of the court. Ibaka got 24 out of his career high 34pts in the first half alone, along with 10reb.

Fun Fact: Kyle Lowry holds the record for most consecutive games with 10 or more assists in a game in franchise history with eight straight.

The 2nd quarter belonged to Pascal Siakam. He dominated the net while posterizing LeBron for 2 of his 16pts. It’s amazing to see how far he has come since last year and his athleticism be a force to be reckoned with.

Raps up 71-49 at the half.

Danny Green starts off the second half hitting a deep three. He has made two or more three pointers in every game he has played this season expect one. He is a secret weapon for Nick Nurse and I think will be a key component in Toronto being kings of the East.

Just as you thought it was all Raptor ball the Lakers went on a 6-0 run forcing Nick Nurse to call a timeout(87-65).

LeBron James drains his first three pointer (as well as the Lakers’) then hits another for back to back three pointers with 3:45 to play in the 3rd. This game was far from over at this point and you are never really sure you’ve won a game against LeBron until that clock hits 0.0 in the 4th. King James played 28 minutes putting up 18pts.

The Toronto Raptors played, what I think is their best game of the season thus far even though they seemed to get a little tired towards the end. Los Angeles went on a 15-0 run with a minute fifteen to play(117-107) but they held their lead and got win number nine of the season.  The guys in purple and gold had some buttery fingers turning the ball over 15 times.

Fun Fact: 25 years ago today the Toronto Raptors were named as the NBA’s 29th team.. thank god.

Raptors 121-107 Lakers

I’ll be off tomorrow as I will be out concert going with my mom seeing Fleetwood Mac. But, don’t worry you can explore the site for updates and tomorrow’s final score vs the Utah Jazz. Donovan Mitchell won’t be playing and we’re not sure about Kawhi Leonard yet but I do know it will be an important game for Toronto as they are looking to make it 10-1. Tip off is at 9:00pm in Utah.
