Innnn west Philadelphia born and raised in the playground is where I was spending most of my days, chilling out maxin’ relaxing, all cool and shooting some b-ball outside of the school...you can continue the rest of that later!

We have a ball game to recap. It’s all about the jimmy’s tonight (jump shots and Butler). It seems all eyes in the league were on Toronto Wednesday night wondering if this is as simple as a one game loss ( Monday vs Denver) or has turned into something more devastating like a curse. Now although I started this Raptors recap with a Philadelphia reference let’s not lose sight of why tonight was so important. It was” Mandela 100” night at the Scotiabank Arena. Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was a South African anti-apartheid revolutionary, political leader, and philanthropist who served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. We remember Nelson for all that he has done and taught us in his lifetime. (Jump Ball) Philadelphia put up the first 2 pts but lacked defence the following possession and allowed Kawhi to put up a mid range jumper. Leonard brings Toronto within 1pt ( 33-32) with a deep three. Immediately after Lowry heads to the line and steals the lead from Embiid (I may get into poetry as a part time job) to now be 1pt AHEAD! There is no stopping this man. Kawhi finished with a team high 36 pts and 9 reb , going 5/6 from beyond the arc. I don’t think I’ve talked about Danny Green as much as I should. I mean he has started all 26 games this season and i’ve only mentioned him a handful of times when I could have said something positive about him in every game. He isn’t just another player on the court. He is contributing in a major way for Canada’s one and only NBA team and shouldn’t go unnoticed any longer! You know he is a sure thing from deep. Despite only putting up 5 pts, 5 reb and 3 ast he is key in Toronto’s lineup. He is confident, CONSISTENT and has a good attitude on and off the court. I don’t know- he may just be one of my top five favourite players. Green averages 10 ppg and is 100% from the line this season. In the 3rd quarter JJ Reddick hits the three ball with 5.5 seconds bringing the 76ers within 1pt.What Toronto had to be aware of was Jimmy Butler- especially in the dying seconds of the game. Butler has hit two identical game winning threes in 2 of 5 games back in November. He put up a game high 38 pts and 10 reb. Guess this trade from Minnesota was the right move huh. Go Jimmy!

Last years rookie of the year, Ben Simmons showed the city he is more than just a pretty boy with a cute Australian accent . He put up 8 pts, 10 reb and 11 ast. I personally like Kendall Jenner but Philly fans may need to drop this petition about this “Kardashian Kurse”. Fans say the family has a hold over their partners. It happened to Lamar Odom, Kris Humphries, James Harden and although he is having a good start this season- Tristian Thompson. Fun Fact: In 2009, the United Nations proclaimed mandela’s Birthday, July 18th( two days after mine) to be Mandela’s International Day. The holiday asks people to spend 67 minutes doing something good for others, which represents the 67 years he spend working towards change. Another Raptor we should recognize is “K Low”. Lowry was playing great defence early in the first half, not letting the 76ers run away with the lead. And, thank god because it was neck and neck all game. Going back and forth. One point up, one point down. It really was anybody’s game until 11:05 in the 4th quarter . This was one of the most enjoyable games I’ve watched this season. I’m game to see these two teams battle it out for the Eastern Conference title in May. Even though Lowry feels betrayed by Masai Ujiri he still put on for his city and contributed 7pts and 4 reb to this well needed win.

It ain’t over yet. This wasn’t a walk in the park for Toronto. Raps head to where Jay-Z can make the Yankee hat for famous than a yankee can. They head to the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York to challenge the team with the coolest court in the NBA with tip off at 7:30pm Friday night. Can they make it two wins in a row?
