What a night here in Toronto! The Raptors win 96-91 over the Detroit Pistons, snapping a 2-game losing streak at home. No Free pizza this time but a lot still going on!

Everyone was sporting a “you can play” pin to support a social activism campaign dedicated to the eradication of homophobia in sports. The first official You Can Play night in NBA history!

Although Octobers Very Own wasn’t siting in his regular curtsied seats he did have a press conference prior to the game talking about the new partnership. Along with Drake & Masai Ujiri, President, Toronto Raptors have donated a sum of $3,000,000. The Raptors and OVO have pledged $1,000,000 over the next three years to refurbish local community basketball courts. Over the next five years, the Raptors & OVO will contribute the remaining $2,000,000 to Canada Basketball to continue providing elite development to our Canadian ballers.

Now, lets talk game!

Eyes were on the bigs tonight. Did JV step up against Detroits' Big, Andre Drummond?

Tip off went underway at 7:40pm on the dot tonight with the Dinos winning the jump. I don’t know about you but i am NOT taking my eyes off this game in event someone starts throwing down. Demar gets the team going by putting up the first 6pts in the 1st. The offence was strong in the opening frame outscoring the Pistons 31-18.

In the second period , it seems their leaders Demar & Lowry were getting a little frustrated with the calls(or lack thereof) which gave the Pistons a boost cutting the lead to 4. The Raptors had 7 turnovers in the second, Demar responsible for 5 of them and the team giving up 20!

Late in the third Detroit takes their first lead of the game, but before the buzzer could go off, Delon Wright rejects Dwight Buycks at the bucket to then send a pass to Poeltl for easy flush.

Throughout tonights game the raptors were demonstrating great ball movement and if they could just finish at the net, then they would have won by a lot more than just 5pts. While both bigs had double doubles in this game, AD walked away with 25pts,17reb & JV with 17pts, 16reb, they both did a great job protecting the rim and getting those rebounds.

Tonight the Raps are 16-3 at home, making them the first team in the East and the second overall for the best at home record. Who’s first? LaMarcus Aldridge and the San Antonio Spurs. Whom of which the Raptors play at home against ,Friday January 19th @ at the ACC, 7:00pm
