Toronto Rock vs Philadelphia Wings
The Toronto Rock played at home & picked up an 11-10 overtime win on Friday night.
It was a low scoring event for the first half, but then things got interesting. And pretty wild.
The Rock started off the second quarter tied up at 1 and on a two man advantage. Both penalties ran out, but the Rock were able to get on the board with a goal from Adam Jones. Kieran McArdie and Rob Hellyer netted the assists. Then seconds later, Brandon Slade made it 3-1 rock Sheldon Burns had the assist.
28 seconds was it took for the Wings to answer back. Liam Patten drilled one over the top of Nick Rose to cut the deficit to one. Dylan Evans notched an assist.
The Rock got on the power play with just over six in the quarter, but could get anything past Doug Buchan. The Rock were up 3-2 at the end of the second. Shots were 22-21 in favor of the Rock.
Adam Jones scored his second goal of the game just over a minute into the third to make it 4-2. Schreiber and Dan Linter had the assist on the power play.
Tom Schreiber made it 5-2 for Toronto less than a minute later. This was his second of the game.
The Wings responded under a minute later when Chris Coultier made it 5-3.
Philly clawed their way back to within one after Steph Charbonneau and Coultier, who scored with just three seconds left in the quarter.
Three minutes into the fourth quarter, Anthony Joaquin tied it up at 7 for the Wings.
Schrieber netted one right off the draw literally seconds after to tie the game up at 9. This was his fourth of the night.
Blaze Riorden notched his second goal of the night with just over two left in the game to take the lead and make it 10-9.
Schreiber took a pass in the defensive end from Rob Hellyer to tie it up at 10. This was his fifth goal of the game.
This game needed overtime and it was no one other than Jones, who notched his fifth goal on the night at 3:51 of the OT frame to make it 11-10 Rock.
